Facebook Page
Describe Facebook page instructions to the class:
Students will pretend they are the main character Esperanza and create a Facebook page by using direct quotes from the text.
Requirements: (I will pass out a requirements checklist so students know exactly what is expected of them.)
1. Profile Picture with a "caption" (draw a picture of the way Esperanza see’s herself (For example, what is her hair like?) and include a caption that Esperanza would likely write about herself, incorporating textual evidence for support)
2. Cover Photo (draw a design that represents part of Esperanza's identity, other than physical appearance, incorporating textual evidence for support)
3. ‘About Me’ Section (write a brief “About Me” paragraph that Esperanza would write about herself, incorporating textual evidence for support)
4. Choose at least 6 other characters (refer to your character books for guidance) and have them post "comments" on Esperanza's "wall." Make sure your comments are realistic in the context of the novel.
Students can volunteer to share their Facebook pages with the class
